Well you have finally come to the Links page. The following links take you to sites I use to find more detailed weather information for New Zealand and of course Dunedin itself. I have also included a brief description so you know what to expect.

The best first. Metservice. A New Zealand Goverment funded website with up to date detailed weather information, including forecasts, satellite maps and weather knowledge topics.

Let's not forget to thank the maker...Andy Keir. You can visit his site via this link and download his weather program that I use here.

This link will take you to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology site and to the page which is a satellite loop of the last few hours. Great to see the weather fronts approach from the south.

Landcare Research Ltd has a fantastic satellite image of just New Zealand. Though it only updates about 4 times a day the picture quality is superb. The satellite is NOAA-16 and you can track its progress on the next link, J-Track.
J-Track 3D
Ah...J-Track. Nothing directly to do with weather but sooo cool. Load this page and it will open a separate browser to unfold the World with all its "man-made" satellites revolving around it. As mentioned if you know the satellite's name that takes your weather pictures or if you just want to know where the International Space Station is, take a look.

Another great site here. MetVUW.com also has up to date weather such as satellite pictures, rain radar, 3 hourly wind and rain analysis to name a few. This link will take you to the satellite page.
Gopher
Now this site listed here is really just for the one satellite picture, Gopher. Normally when we see a satellite picture in New Zealand in doesn't venture any further south than a few hundred kilometres. This one will show you if the "fetch" on that low is dragging the really cold stuff straight off the Antarctic.

Yahoo Weather? I hear you say. Yes a site that is hugely commercial but it has a great Australasian satellite picture which once again helps with those hopeful cold fronts laden with snow.

Skyview has a great site for purchasing all those weather essential gadgets that make life more enjoyable. I brought a Meteos Wind Anenometer so I can measure the wind speed anywhere I go. Have a browse.

Again nothing to do weather but in the age of technology we all need a hand in the best way to display and store those treasured weather pictures. If you are like me sitting down to watch a DVD of all the digital pictures and video you have taken is a prime-time event. The man behind this site can take you there. Convert It will assist you in preserving your audio and video, from cassette and VHS, on state of the art DVD rom.
